Traveling Internationally can be fun and exciting, especially when traveling to areas with different cultures, climatic conditions, or time zones. The real work lies in deciding what electronics to pack for your trip and how to pack them.

While the devices you pack majorly depend on the purpose of your travel, everyone who travels often knows that one thing you should never leave behind when traveling across countries is your Apple Watch. There are however a few things you should know about traveling Internationally with Apple Watch.

Why travel with an Apple Watch

An Apple Watch makes your traveling experience better! You don’t have to juggle carrying suitcases and handling your other mobile devices. You can send and receive texts, including flight alerts, while on transit.  Not only are you able to avoid missing important information while traveling Internationally, but it also tracks your steps and monitors your health variables as you navigate through airports.

You can also take full advantage of your Apple Watch when you’re in areas that support tap-to-pay. While tap-to-pay is not very common in the U.S, you can use your Apple Watch to pay for goods and services in numerous countries all over the world. Not only is paying with your watch less stressful, but it is just as secure as using your credit card. If you are scared because you can damage your device while travelling, we gathered tips below to help you avoid it. In case you damage it anyway, you can sell broken Apple products to resellers.

Apps that will Help You With Travel

Traveling Internationally means you might end up in locations with poor internet access or no internet access at all.  Apple Watch apps for travel like Solar, Astronomy and Modular faces always come in handy. Set up these apps, especially Modular face, with information that remain current even when you’re in a location with no internet access such as  weather conditions, sunrise, and sunset as well as activity  Remember to load these apps before you lose internet connection. I recommend loading the apps you plan on using before you begin your trip at all or before you get on your flight.

Which bands you should have

While some bands have unique features that make them especially great for certain kinds of trips, you can never go wrong with an all-purpose band. You could choose to travel with multiple bands, but an all-purpose option can basically handle all you need. The Apple’s Woven Nylon collection are especially great because they go with any outfit. So whether you’re attending a fancy party or a corporate meeting, they fit right in. You may prefer a neutral color like black or blue or you can go for something less conservative, depending on what works for you.

Another thing you should consider when choosing  Apple Watch travel accessories, is that it is possible to lose it in the hustle and bustle of traveling. It would hurt more if you lose an expensive band on your trip. It is advisable to travel with a band that isn’t overly expensive. This way, you can easily replace it if it gets missing.

Best Cases While traveling with Apple Watch

Your Apple watch no doubt needs to be kept safe as you travel. Apart from aesthetics, you have to choose a case that will protect your watch and at the same time is easy to pack.

If you want to bring multiple bands, a multipurpose travel case like the Twelve South’s Timeporter would be a great choice. It can hold spare bands and it has a tabletop charging solution to make charging on the road easier.

Don’t forget about charging

Your Apple Watch is of no use if its battery is dead. Apple Watch has a  long lasting battery-life, but you will need to charge it at some point, especially If your trip will last longer than 24-hours. A percularity of Apple Watches is its magnetic charging. It is unlike charging  your other devices where you can easily lend a charger or a cable from people around.

Keep in mind that you may not always get an outlet to charge your Apple Watch while in transit, so it is safe to have a back-up plan. A great back up plan would be to take an external battery along with you. There are several high-capacity batteries with built-in Apple Watch charging solutions. Most of these batteries have strap-on features that make it easy to charge your Apple Watch while moving around.

Get Something to Clean Your Apple Watch

When traveling Internationally with your Apple Watch, take along screen wipes. Some locations are dustier or hotter than others and you can get sweat and all kinds of dirt on your Apple Watch as you travel. A sweaty or dusty Apple Watch would certainly be uncomfortable so you will need to get something to clean your Apple Watch. Screen wipes are always the better choice because they are not only great for your phone screen, they also clean your Apple Watch and band more effectively than other materials.

What If It Gets Broken During Travel

If your Apple Watch gets broken, your first thought might be to sell it to Apple. While this is not a bad idea, a better deal would be to sell it to a reseller. You can get so much more, depending on the model of your Apple Watch and how damaged it is.

Planning and preparing for a cruise is an exciting process. You’ll sail from one horizon to the next and enjoy breathtaking sunsets almost every day. On the flip side, planning your first cruise can be intimidating. Large ships can be 16 stories high with a capacity of 3500 – 5000 passengers – they are like small towns.

Cruises include people from different regions with different cultures and preferences. As such, cruise companies try to appeal to the masses by providing a mix of everything. While the mix offers an unforgettable experience, you need to learn a couple of things in readiness.

Below are things to know before you embark on your first cruise, which will help in your preparation.

There is Secret Cruise Code Language

Crew members use coded language to communicate with each other when things go wrong discreetly. It’s crucial to keep guests from freaking out,

Some coded words they use include:

  • 30-30 and PVI – some stomachs aren’t made for the sea. As such, PVI is a common code used to communicate public vomiting. Other general mishaps are covered by 30-30.
  • Bravo and Kilo – when you see crew members rushing to specific areas on the cruise ship at once, do not freak out. They have predetermined posts they report to in urgent situations. To signal this, they use ‘Kilo.’ ‘Bravo’ signals a fire on the ship.
  • Charlie, Charlie, Charlie – this alerts the crew to a serious security threat on board. But you shouldn’t worry as the cruise crew undergoes regular training to handle such emergencies.
  • Alpha and Operation Bright Star – Alpha refers to a medical emergency where a stretcher is needed. On the other hand, ‘operation bright star’ communicates death or severe medical emergencies.

How to get the best deal on a cruise

It helps to know when cruises are at their cheapest. Different seasons attract different prices. Generally, cruises are cheaper in fall and late winter because kids are in school, adults are working. But this also differs with regions. For instance, Caribbean cruises are cheaper in the fall, while Canada and New England Cruises are most expensive.

You can also save money by booking your cruise early. A couple of months in advance will suffice. When you sign up for a cruise line newsletter, you’ll receive notifications when they have special sales.

Some cabins rooms don’t have windows

It’s easy to get caught up in the grandeur of cruise ships that you forget some cabin rooms aren’t glamorous and don’t have windows. If you have a problem being in a tiny closed space, you should spend more time researching room amenities. Pick one that meets your needs and is within your budget.

Don’t tip double on alcohol

Tipping good service is good practice unless it’s factored into the price of the product or service. Big cruise ships automatically add a 15% service charge to bar bills. So unless the service was exceptional, there’s no point in adding another tip.

Invest in travel insurance

Travel insurance isn’t only for travelers in bad health, those packing valuable items, or those going on extravagant trips. On the contrary, travel insurance policies can bail you out in different situations, including:

  • Trip interruptions – when ships develop mechanical problems that lead to the voyage’s cancellation, you’ll spend extra to get home. Cruise ship companies often assist in such situations, but travel insurance policies reimburse unexpected expenses.
  • Trip cancellation – if something happens and you have to cancel, you’ll receive an expensive cancellation penalty. Travel insurance will reimburse some of these costs.
  • Trip delay – when mechanical delays result in you missing your connecting flight, travel insurance covers the expense.

Other situations it covers include:

  • Baggage loss or delay
  • Medical expenses
  • Emergency evacuation
  • Terrorism or war

Sign up for activities in advance

Some cruise lines allow you to sign up for tours, shows, and other fun activities online before sailing. If you want to secure a spot for specific shows, advance booking is always a good idea. Don’t be shocked when some restaurant reservations, tours, or shows book up before sailing. If you don’t manage to sign up before sailing, do it immediately, you board the ship.

As you plan and prepare for the cruise, make necessary work plans. The last thing you want is to spend time solving crises on your vacation. With planning, you’ll be much happier.

In her romantic dreams almost every girl sees a white ship, a beautiful captain in a snow-white tunic at the helm. And herself … in no less snow-white, flapping in the wind dress.

But one day the dream becomes a reality. And in this happy reality is very important to know what the dress code on the cruise ship.

In order not to panic, going on a trip, and not to be in a silly position because of the lack of necessary closet, it is better to prepare in advance. In order for the long-awaited vacation to be pleasant and carefree, the clothes on the cruise on the liner and the whole suitcase should be packed wisely.

Cruise closet by class of liner

Who has vacationed in hotels, knows approximately what can come in handy on a trip.

The level and class of the liner is also determined by the number of stars. Accordingly, and their dress code is similar, it defines clothes for the cruise.

Specialized clothing for the cruise liner is produced every year by any well-known fashion house since Karl Lagerfeld resumed the cruise collection in 1999.

As part of the cruise collection, you’ll be able to buy capsule clothing for daytime and evening wear.

Keep in mind that there will be considerably less room for a suitcase in a cabin than in a hotel room. But you do not have to worry.

If we approach the question sensibly, then in one suitcase everything will fit.

In the case if the cruise is planned on the liner with five or six stars, then you should start collecting from the evening dresses. They will need a few.

You need to be prepared for dinners in the restaurant and the so-called gala dinner. It is assumed that the person who paid a lot of money for the cruise, knows the basic rules of etiquette.

On a ship respect of a captain and other passengers is a sacred thing, so after 6 pm shorts, shirts, jeans are put away in a suitcase. For dinner – only in decent evening clothes.

On the liners that do not “grab stars from the sky” that is inexpensive, all is much more modest and democratic and the clothes on the cruise will be more simple.

Be sure to ask the travel agency, where you bought the trip, about the rules of dress code on the ship. Most likely, it will be enough to wear just an evening gown. In any case, on budget liners it is not specified, who should wear what.

Like any other trip, going on a sea cruise, you should not take too many things with you. Airlines today are constantly striving to cut baggage allowances, so it’s more cost-effective to go what’s called light. But if you do so, you should be aware of what things and accessories you need on the plane, throwing in a suitcase first encountered in the hands is not a good idea. If you’re puzzled over what to take with you on your first cruise, you can breathe a sigh of relief – we’ve developed a special guide with a list of things you’ll definitely need to pack.

First things first. Short shorts are only allowed to be worn if you’re by the pool on the deck or going to the fitness center. You can also pull them on if you’re heading to the poolside buffet for a snack. That’s it. It’s even stricter with swimsuits. They’re only appropriate for the pool.

Daytime closet guide. Walking shorts, slacks, jeans, casual shirts and sundresses have a good chance in the interior of the liner. On the outdoor decks – bathing suits (by the pool and in the sunbathing areas), shorts in the style of casual, all possible combinations of shirts and jeans.

At the beach. Depending on the occasion, if you are going on a kayak excursion or snorkeling, go for a casual look. If you’re going into town, daytime closet items are appropriate.

Evenings. Cruise ships set a daily evening dress code – casual, resort casual, casual, formal. They go into effect in public areas and restaurants starting at 6 p.m. (it’s always a casual style during the day). Usually on a weeklong cruise you’ll have two formal evenings, a couple of casual options, and one to four semi-formal ones. To find out what the dress code will be today, read the daily cruise paper. For all but formal evenings (as well as casual on higher-class ships), resort casual style is the accepted dress code. That means your outfit doesn’t have to be pure silk, but it does have to be elegant. Think flowing cotton dresses, silk mixes and pant suit combinations that you would wear to a symphony orchestra concert on land or to a nice restaurant.
